Duathlon – Wrapping up to wrap up 2023
The final event of the year was the club duathlon held at Covenham reservoir on 29th December. The relentless rain paused for a couple of hours to allow the participants to brave the strong, cold winds.
The first lady was Claire Jackson and first man Richard Roe. A big thank you to Sean and Julie for standing out in the cold to organise and time the event.
Beginners Swim Course Completion
Another set of swimmers successfully completed Mag’s 8 week Beginners swim course. The participants all successfully mastered the front crawl and now just need to continue their hard efforts.
So often, swimming is the barrier to budding triathletes, but these fantastic beginners courses really help people to overcome that. Look out for more courses in 2024.
10k TDA
The 10k Away Day on Dec 16th was the biggest ever, with 28 ladies and 18 gentlemen participating. Paul Snowden headed the mens table with 4 loops in a time of 3hours 28mins and Jane McKay headed the ladies with 3 loops in 2hours and 39mins.
It was a great day of running, jeffing and walking with PBs and lots of support for each other. Mags had her work cut out; but very successfully kept everyone going in the right direction through out the day. Well done to everyone.
Pairs XC at Wold Newton
Sunday 12th November saw LTC triathletes running and biking round a cross country course for the first event of the 2024 league. Mark and Jill slipped and slided their way to 1st place. Honourable mention to Lottie for dragging Sean round in a pretty quick time.
A massive thank you to Birgit and Hamish for the course set up; which is probably harder than doing the event itself.
Pairs Sprint Triathlon
The 2023 Season’s competitons ended with the Pairs Sprint Triathlon on 17th Sept. The format encourages close and unpredicatable racing with the fastest athletes being paired with the slowest.
This was proved on the day with the mid table pairing of Ant and Neil finishing just ahead of the top and bottom pairing of Clare and Martin.
Final League Table.
After a full 2023 season of racing the Queen of the season is Abi and the King is Martin.

The league table has been updated to include the TT results.

Triple Celebration Party
The party to celebrate winning the Huub England National Triathlon Club of the Year, the club’s 10th anniversary and the success of so many of our triathletes at the Outlaw 70.3 took place on Friday 26th May.
I’m not allowed to put up many of the pictures and videos – you had to be there. Suffice to say, when your coach arrives home with just one shoe, it has been a good night.
Outlaw 70.3
Sunday 21st May saw over 30 of our athletes competing at the Outlaw 70.3 in Nottingham. Great performances across the board saw personal targets achieved; whether that was completing their first gruelling 70.3 or a strong result in their age group. Many of the completers even made it to swim training on Wednesday for a photo.
